Spreckels Volunteer Fire company is the oldest ALL volunteer fire company in Monterey County. 

 

Established in 1898 to provide emergency services to the Spreckels Sugar Company, today has a volunteer base of 25 firefighters dedicated to the protection of life and property in the Spreckels area.

It is time again for the - SPRECKELS 4th OF JULY CELEBRATION - 10K RUN and 4th Annual 5K Walk

The Spreckels Volunteer Fire Company would like to remind you that traffic will be restricted around Spreckels Park and ABSOLUTLEY NO VEHICLE TRAFFIC will be allowed in town during the hours of 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM on Friday, July 4th while the race is taking place. This includes ALL residents with or without a pass.

Residents of National Street: We would like to ask for your help in creating a more ideal parking situation on your street. To allow for better access to parking and emergency vehicles, please park across the street from your house, facing the field. This will set the example for others parking there.

Attached are two parking passes to place in the window of your vehicle so you may travel freely in and out of town before and after the race (not between 8:30 and 10:30 am)*.

*Best access during the event can be made from Spreckels Blvd. to Railroad Ave. on the south and National Street on the north, avoiding Harkins Road except during the hours of 8:30 and 10:30 am.

7:30-8:30 am Race Registration (3rd & Spreckels Park)

8:30 am Youth 1 mile run begins (start/finish line on 3rd St)

9 am – 5K & 10K begins (start/finish line on 3rd St)

10:30 am Parade Registration (VFW Hall 5th & Hatton)

11:00 am Awards Ceremony (near registration tent)

12:00 pm Parade begins (VFW Hall 5th & Hatton)

1:00 pm Fireman’s Muster begins (Llano between 2nd & 3rd)

4:00 pm Activities End

As a part of our 4th of July celebration we would like to remind all of our neighbors that fireworks of any type, including Safe and Sane, are illegal in the town of Spreckels. This is a county ordinance. If you discharge fireworks you could be cited.
